STEREOLITHOGRAPHY
Starting from a 3D file, a part is built slice by slice from bottom to top, in a vessel of liquid epoxy that hardens when struck by a laser beam.
Stereolithography is mainly used for "show and tell" parts and visual prototypes.

LASER SINTERING
Starting from a 3D file, Laser Sintering builds parts layer by layer in functional PA12 material.
Laser Sintering is used for fully functional prototypes and series of small components.

NEXTDAY
NextDay prototypes are manufactured with our stereolithography technology, using high-quality epoxy.
We have built patented NextDay machines with a 0.15 mm layer thickness that work faster than the standard stereolithography-machines.
This technology enables us to build and ship your models on the same day they were ordered.

POLYJET
Objet’s patented PolyJet inkjet technology works by jetting state of the art photopolymer materials in ultra-thin layers (16µ) onto a build tray layer by layer until the part is completed.
Polyjet is used for models with fine details or rubberlike materials.

FDM

FDM ABS
An ABS prototype has up to 80% of the strength of injection moulded ABS meaning that it is extremely suitable for functional applications.

PC-ABS is a blend of polycarbonate and ABS plastic which combines the strength of PC with the flexibility of ABS.

Polycarbonate is a widely used thermoplastic with high impact strength and a good temperature resistance.

FDM ABS-ESD7
ABS-ESD7 is a unique material since, unlike most thermoplastics that are insulators, ABS-ESD7 is a static dissipative material. It expands the ability of FDM Technology to produce manufacturing tools and functional prototypes for static sensitive products. Static dissipative materials prevent the buildup and discharge of static electricity, which can impair the performance and life expectancy of products.

If you choose epoxy, you allow us to select one of the above stereolithpgraphy materials, that fits best the geometry of your design.

LS POLYAMIDE (PA)
Being a solid material, the powder has the attractive feature of being self-supporting for the generated product sections.
This makes supports (typical for stereolithography) redundant.
The polyamide material allows the production of fully functional prototypes with high mechanical and thermal resistance.
Polyamide parts have an excellent long-term stability and are resistant against most chemicals.
They can be made watertight by impregnation.
The PA material offered at Materialise Onsite cannot be used for clinical purposes.

LS GLASS FILLED POLYAMIDE (PA-GF)
The use of PA powder filled with glass particles (PA-GF) has a much higher thermal resistance and is typically used in functional tests with high thermal loads

LS ALUMIDE
Alumide is a blend of aluminium powders and PA powder, which allows metallic-looking, non-porous components to be machined easily and is resistant to high temperatures.
A typical application for Alumide is the manufacture of stiff parts of metallic appearance for applications in automotive manufacture (e.g. wind tunnel tests or parts that are not safety relevant), for small production runs, for illustrative models (metallic appearance), for education and jig manufacture, among other aspects
